Our drive the next day to Queenstown was beautiful also... traversing unique landscape, filled with funny clumpy shrubbery... then passing another beautiful lake with mountains in the background...

we stopped by Cromwell for some lunch and a time for the kids to run about... we also picked up some fruits at the orchards there... they also had lovely dried fruits... tasting a sampler of "rasp-cherries"... it was to die for... but i couldn't bring myself to fork out the $$ for a packet of it... heh... took some extra samples for the kiddos.

We then drove at a non-stop pace in order to reach Queenstown to check in before 5pm, by passing gorges and winery's

The RCI place we had in Queenstown was The Ridge Resort. The place has 19 units of 3room apartments, which could hold all of us... one room, bath, kitchen and living in the first floor and another 2 rooms plus bath on the second... with Superb views out of the dining, kitchen and balcony...

the view out of the balcony was lovely... one early morning, i think it was a cold night - the lake had a layer of mist over it and the surrounding cloud cover was lower then the mountain tips... lovely... u see that in the top panoramic shot.

even at night, when its clear.... the sky is filled with stars! sitting in the comfort of the dining area, with the lights off, u can literally see the sky filled with tiny dots of light... the town below is devoid of any street lights... so there are not much ambient light to disturb your view of the stars... lovely...
